ISO 14001

Updated: Sep 14, 2020

As we all know the ISO14001:2015 revision of the Environmental Management System have been issued and organization are in the process to migrate to the new revision. With the migration organizations evaluate the need for the documentation they might have already in place as part of their current ISO14001 certification.

I have reviewed the ISO14001:2015 standard to establish a list of mandatory documentation to make this process easier. Also included in the list is how Elint Smart Software can be applied to benefit your organization to ensure integration, continuity and sustainability of your management system.

The list is split in Documents and Records. The difference between a document and a record:

1. A document is proof of a specific procedure, policy act and can be reviewed and changed under controlled conditions.

2. A record is proof of completed documents to state a fact and cannot be changed e.g. completed checklists.

The following list is non-mandatory documents. My experience working with management systems is that organization use documentation to ensure standardization and consistency within the business. The list of documents described below will guide the organization and assist to create the required mandatory records.

The following list maybe formulated in a document however should Elint Smart Software be implemented the system will manage these processes and records and therefore it is not necessary to duplicate documentation for the platform functionality.
